Delhi prisons in association with Mother Dairy

In yet another initiative taken by the Prisons Department towards making Jails, environment friendly and minimizing usage of single use plastic, 15 Mother Dairy Integrated containers (IC's) of 200 litres capacity for dispensing milk to inmates have been set up in different Jails in Mandoli with active support from Mother Dairy. The Integrated Containers were inaugurated today by Sh. Sandeep Goel, DG (P) alongwith Sh. Sangram Chaudhary, Managing Director, Mother Dairy in Mandoli Jails in presence of Sh. Raj Kumar, AIG (P) and Sh. Rajesh Chopra, DIG (P).

By this initiative, Mandoli Prisons Complex has discontinued use of about 5000 poly packs of ½ litres per day instead approximately 2500 Litres milk would now be dispensed through these Integrated Containers.

Inaugurating the Mother Dairy IC's Sh. Sandeep Goel, DG Prison assured that similar effort will be replicated soon in other Jail complexes in Tihar and Rohini. He thanked Sh. Sangram Chaudhary, M.D- Mother Dairy and further appreciated the support extended by the whole team of Mother Dairy in taking up the initiative further and making prisons environment friendly.

In addition to installation of IC's Mandoli Prisons have also discontinued single use plastic pack usage in Bread, Biscuit & other Bakery products for in-house consumption. These bakery items are now being supplied in re-usable containers as an environment friendly move.

The function was also graced by other officers of Mother Dairy and by Superintendents, Mandoli Prison Complex.
